These kids grow up fast! It is hard to believe that our baby, Daphline, is now 13 and in the 9th grade. When we came inside today, she was at the dining room table studying! She and her cousin both came from our highest, most difficult village, Savaan Roche. Her mother, Jolucia, died shortly after her birth. Her father gave her to her aunt, whose husband had recently been shot and killed. Her aunt already had nine children, and now, no husband. She was in such grief that she had mental problems and she could not take care of Daphline. Her aunt brought her and her cousin to our orphanage and they have been with us ever since.

She is sweet, hardworking, and can be anything she wants to be… a doctor, a nurse, a teacher… anything. Daphline loves to play the drums at our children’s service each night. Many times, she and some other children lead the service in singing and worship. Daphline is also on our Praise Dance Team! She is elegant. We are so proud of her. She is gentle, kind, respectful, and loves God.

She and some of her “sisters” volunteer to help in our Malnutrition Center when they are not in school. Each child is “a work of art” from our Heavenly Father! We love this kid!
