The name “Dieubon” means “God is good.” But if you had looked at this little toddler trying to “hobble around” with two clubbed feet, and born into a very poor family, you might wonder why a mother would name her baby “God is good.”
Nevertheless, God had a plan. We had a Mobile Clinic team come to Haiti and one of the people on the team was Dr. Chester Falterman. When Dr. Barthelemy saw the little boy with clubbed feet, “he was moved with compassion!” Together they found a surgeon for Dieubon in the States, and he received the best of care. When Dieubon was dismissed from the hospital, the Faltermans took Dieubon in and cared for him and Dieubon began to walk!
Today, Dieubon is a young man and is on our “painting team!” (They usually give him the baseboards!) I don’t like the beard, but all young Haitian guys say that Haitian girls love beards! Ha! I guess we will have to hire “security” to keep him safe! Ha!
