Every day there is a battle for the lives of the poor in our Jesus Healing Center Clinic. Every night is filled with fear. The Haitian Proverb says, “When a Haitian lays down to sleep at night, fear lays down beside them!”

Not only do the poor fear “evil spirits” at night but now, gangs are breaking into their homes, even in the middle of the night! They cling to the hope that “tomorrow” will be better.

Even in the presence of gangs, our “Jesus Healing Center” is a “light in the midst of darkness!”

The sick are welcomed with “open arms,” and as soon as they come, they are in the presence of Christians who pray with them and welcome them. They hear “Joyce Myer” in French, giving them hope! They do not have to pay a “gourde” to get a doctor’s appointment, not for lab tests or medicines!

They come with “nothing in their hands” because the gangs have robbed them of what little they had!

A poor mother arrived with a sick baby in her arms… little Djonsly was just 9 months old but frail. He had severe diarrhea and a high fever and weighed only 5.9 kg (about 13 pounds). He had other major health problems, and had she not come, her baby would have died. But the good news is that, after doing everything the doctors needed to do ASAP, he will now be referred to our Malnutrition Clinic!

We pray that as the Haitian poor see Jesus in us and as they hear God’s Word, they will know that “God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and love and of a sound mind.” II Tim. 1:7
