Feeding hungry children at school. This is the best way to feed children here in Haiti. Feeding them in school, when they are quiet, prevents children from grabbing and fighting over food.

This food has protein, and protein helps the children learn better. Children from the mountains are poor… their families are poor. Their families do not have eggs or other food items for them. Oftentimes, parents will send their children to school on nothing but “hot coffee with lots of sugar.” This may appear to give them energy, but they will crash in about an hour. They will become sleepy, lethargic, and cannot learn.

We share each month with many Christian schools of all denominations. These precious children are being cared for by Sister Mirjam. You can see that they are happy and healthy. We have many Love A Child schools throughout Haiti. We can see the difference in the hair and skin of the children who eat regularly.

This food comes from our friends at Feed My Starving Children. Our partners sponsor the cost of bringing this food to Haiti and getting it released from Customs and bringing it here to Love A Child. From here, it goes to all our schools, all the villages we feed each month, and many organizations that feed children as we do.
