She was from a family of four children… Years ago, we had taken in our first four children from the very area of L’Artibonite, Haiti. We never figured on “having an orphanage,” but now, with Florence’s mother passing away, we had to take in another “family of four children.” In Haiti, when a child’s mother dies, they are “considered to be an orphan,” because a poor father cannot work hard enough to make a decent living for his children, because he is also “caring for the children!!”

I never realized it, but by taking in “four more children,” we had actually started our “orphanage!”

It grew even more as the years went by…

Florence finished High School and then had an opportunity to go to Italy. After her studies, she found a job doing “Radiology” screening.

She is still there today, working hard, on her own. She has a wonderful Church; now, let’s pray that God gives her a good Christian husband!
