His name is Raphael… He came to us with two of his sisters, Bianca and Ada. There were four children in the family, the oldest with severe mental problems. Their “aunt” had come to us to ask us to take them in. She had told us that the children’s mother and father had tried to make it to the States from Cape Haitian, but the boat capsized… Their aunt already had children and could not take on the burden… We offered to take three of the children, but we were concerned about taking in the older girl with mental problems due to the fact that we had children here who were “quite fragile.”

Raphael is now 12 years old and in 7th grade. He is very intelligent and loves school! He is quiet and respectful… He makes very good grades in school and loves to draw!!  He also loves music, but his dream… He wants to be a doctor! We will see… Until then, if he does his work at home and at school, perhaps God will make a way for him! Raphael is a sweet kid and we all love him! Sherry
