“Getting ready for school.” It’s a lot more difficult getting ready for schools to open in Haiti than in the US. Private missionary schools do not receive funds from the government for broken toilets, blackboards, food, books, and things like school desks. Right now, our carpenters are busy making 250 school desks, each one seating six children! That’s just the beginning! There are far more desks and blackboards to build because we have expanded most of our schools, and more children are waiting to be sponsored to “come to school.” Building projects in Haiti employ laborers and create jobs!
