Grandma Erima is 73-years-old. She lives in Ganthier, Haiti, with her daughter, Marie Simon. She has had five children, but two of them died. Life has been such a struggle for this precious lady. About a month or two ago, when she picked up some wood (probably to build a fire), a wood splinter got stuck under her fingernail. It was painful, but she did not want to go to a doctor. Her fingernail and her whole hand got infected, but still, she would not go. She thought someone was putting “Voodoo” on her (Obia), so she continued to suffer. She really wanted to go to a good hospital, but she had no money. Finally, someone told her about our Jesus Healing Center, and she decided to go.
Dr. Barthelemy had many patients in the ER that day, but Grandma Erima was his main concern. He knew that if he told her to go to a hospital, she would not do it. So, he did what he had to do to save her life. He told her he would have to amputate her finger. He was afraid that gangrene would set in and kill her. Grandma Erima finally agreed, and with all the other patients in the ER, Dr. Barthelemy, and the staff, they amputated her finger.
Dr. Barthelemy and the staff took excellent care of her. She is doing fine and will be back for a checkup. But, unfortunately, many poor Haitian men, women, and children do not have the money for the care they need. They do not have the money for the consultation, nor the labs, nor for the medicine! That is why we are here. We are here for those too poor for medical care. We are here for those who believe that Voodoo is killing them, and we are here for those who need “the great physician,” Jesus!
Thank you, partners!! We would never have this beautiful Jesus Healing Center if it were not for you! We love you!
