She was just a baby, about three months old or a little more, when her mother, Madamn Jesula, brought Esther and her sister, Widlene, to our house in Mt. Noire, Haiti. Madamn Jesula looked like she was going to die at any moment. She just wanted someone “to take care of her babies after she died.” Madamn Jesula was “skin and bone.” I told her, “Well, if your name is Jesula, you won’t die!” Jezi is Jesus in Creole. We put Madamn Jesula in the hospital and then gave her a job when she got out.

Esther, that little baby, is now 16 years old! She is smart, kind, and confident. She passes all her tests! She is the best student in her class. She loves to play basketball and soccer and can “hold her own” with her “Haitian brothers!” I guess you cannot imagine what she wants to be after completing high school. That’s right! She wants to be a vet! Let’s pray that Esther will reach her dream! She is really “in love” with the Lord! She has the spirit of the Lord upon her life!
