Helping Baby Hans Terane

“The Child Who Cries Inside Your House and the One Who Cries Outside, Are the Same.” (A Haitian Creole Proverb.)

Little Hans Terane should not be alive today. He is another case of severe hunger and malnutrition. He is in a family of six children, in a typical poor Haitian village. There are six children in the family living in a tiny mud and stick house with a father who does not care about providing for his family.

His mother, Madamn Terane is a precious, poor mother who tries to find work washing clothes, or doing little jobs. There are many days when the children do not eat, but all Haitian families will “sleep in hunger each night,” if they can just have “something to eat on Sunday.” However, with his father not providing for the family, the children are always hungry. Unfortunately, Little Hans, became “very near death” with Kwashiorkor Malnutrition. He was in such bad condition that he was nearly “lifeless.” A neighbor told his mother to “take him to Love A Child.” When our doctors examined him, they immediately sent him to our Malnutrition Center. After some weeks, and with great care, he gained weight and became a happy, healthy baby.

He can now eat the “Feed My Starving Children rice mixture” that you help sponsor each month! And, each month when mom brings him for a checkup, his family will leave with 216 meals, full of vitamins! We give God all the Glory, and we want you to see “just some of the wonderful results of your sacrificial giving! Hans’ mother says, “Thank you for saving my baby!” God bless you.
