This “sweet-looking, tender-hearted, hard-working” young man is George. His mother, a poor woman, was going to have a baby and give him up for adoption. I found out about this woman when I had gone down to Port-au-Prince to buy medicines for my Mobile Medical Clinic. (In those days, I drove all over Port-au-Prince by myself because there were no gangs!)

When I arrived at the pharmacy downtown, a pharmacy worker, whom I knew quite well, told me a story about a poor woman who was ready to give birth but could not afford another child! She was going to “leave the baby on the street” unless she could find someone to take the baby. I found the lady and told her I would come and get the baby when she gave birth. That’s what happened!

George is now married, has a child, and works full-time for Love A Child! He has become a “gift from God!”

He is hardworking and loves God, and we could not get along without him!! He really has been “a gift from God!” just like you!!
