George is such a sweet, kind young man! Years ago, I can remember going to a large pharmacy in Port-au-Prince to buy medicine. The young lady behind the counter recognized me and always helped me a lot. She asked if we would be able to take in a new baby “because its mother did not want any more children.” She was going to “leave him in the hospital” when she gave birth, because she could not afford another mouth to feed.
When the hurricane struck, her baby came quickly, and she called me. I went over to see her, and she handed me this baby boy. We called him “Georges,” and then later, George, after the hurricane.
George has been on a backhoe, front-end loader, and “anything with wheels” since he was 12!! (But of course, we knew nothing about that!! Ha!) George is married now and has adopted a baby. He still works for us, operating heavy equipment, and is of one of our drivers. He has a “very tender heart” for the poor. That’s why we love him so much. Sherry
