Little 18-month old Albert was brought to our Jesus Healing Center by his mother. She had told us that she had seven children and after she had the last four, her husband left her with no job, no work, and no way of feeding the children. She carries water for people and tries to do “whatever she can” to feed them all… But 8 in a family is a lot to feed, especially in the mountains of Haiti.

Our clinic fed her and her baby after the exam. They found little frail Albert to have marasmus malnutrition and very severe. We prepared them to go by ambulance, but I stopped them. When a mom goes to a hospital with a child, she is expected to stay with that child day and night or find someone else to come. In that case, I wanted to know “who” would be taking care of and feeding her six children, who were waiting for her to come home?

And even if we sent food, what would happen when the food ran out? These are always questions we have to think about. It is not always easy caring for a malnourished child of a poor mother.

After giving this lot of thought, we sent her back home to take food to her family. She was also blessed in a way she had never expected, but let’s just say, “the Lord provides!” She received help and a miracle from God!!

We wish to thank Joyce Meyer Ministries: Hand of Hope, for sponsoring the operating cost of our Jesus Healing Center. This ensures that the poorest people can see a qualified, caring doctor, receive lab tests, medicines, and most of all, prayer!

So many people are coming now, from all over Haiti… We will have to build a larger one!
We are making plans now to build a larger clinic to accommodate all the people. At this timewe have to use our Malnutrition Clinic for our doctors to see patients and for exams for pregnant mothers. As the saying goes, “think we’re gonna need a bigger boat!” We are already thanking God for the new “Jesus Healing Center!” Faith never stands still! God bless you! Sherry

P.S. We wish to thank Faith Church for the donation of a wonderful ambulance, which is used “every day.”
