Haiti is a country in which “the very rich” always receive the “best of care,” while the poor tries to survive each day. The Lord laid it upon our hearts to build a “first class” maternity clinic for the very poor. We will provide pre-natal and post-natal care, as well as a “Women’s Teaching Center.” It is important to use wisdom when working in a country where cultural beliefs are different than our own, so “educating the poor” is key. Poor mothers can now have their babies in a clean facility while receiving prayer and educational training on how to feed their children the most nourishing food with what is available to them. And we will be teaching them that “smaller healthier families” are better than “large families with malnutrition and poor health.”

We wish to thank our friends who contributed to this project, along with Mark and Jesse Ostrander, our Haitian work crew, and those who came from the state of Washington and other far away areas to volunteer. We will dedicate the Birthing Center on May 17th!
