Moses will be in the 9th grade this fall. I remember the day that our Haitian Director, Nelio, called us while we were at our old, broken-down rented orphanage. He said, “Sherry, an old man found a baby. The mother went to an outhouse to give birth and dropped him down the hole. The old man heard a cry, and he tied a rope around his waist and had someone lower him down into the Haitian toilet with a bucket.” (I still cannot imagine that to this day.) The people lowered the old man down and he brought up a baby in a bucket, covered with feces. The women of the village cleaned him up and sent him to the children’s hospital. Then, after two weeks, they called us and asked us to take him. We named him “Moses.”
Today, Moses is getting ready to go to 9th grade. He loves soccer and basketball! There is no telling what he will do with his life, but one thing we know… God has a great plan for his life!! He is a special young man!!! Oh yes, the kids nicknamed him, “De Tet.” (Two heads!)
