Medicine for the Soul – The Church Lady!

I can’t think of anything else to call Madamn Eliante Derisaint other than “the church lady!” (She reminds of a church lady from a television program.) She is extremely funny, loud, and always playing jokes. But when it comes to God and prayer, she is “serious!” Every morning at dawn, she leads the morning worship at our Jesus Healing Center. Although she is on our staff as a “cleaning lady,” she really “cleans up on the devil” each morning! Before prayer, she has a large book, “The Book of Remembrance,” which has the names of all our donors that helped build the “Jesus Healing Center.” Everyone prays for those partners who gave, and especially for Joyce Meyer Ministries/Hand of Hope, who sponsors the monthly operating cost of the clinic! After praying for the partners, she leads the patients into the “prayer room,” where we touch God! There’s “no room for the devil” when Madamn Derisaint is here!!

Then, our sweet, humble Pastor Luc Ebiluis distributes the “Joyce Meyer Booklets” to all the patients. (This one is called, “I Am Alone.”) This helps with their loneliness at the worst time in Haiti that they are going through. While waiting for the doctor, the patients have “church service” with Joyce Meyer on the big screen! All these patients have “been through hell” to reach the Jesus Healing Center! They have had to go through gang areas, some of them being robbed on tap-taps, or beaten before they got here! They give a small, small fee to show that the medicine and all they receive has a “value.” (Most Haitians believe that “if it is free,” it must not be any good!) But even if they have “zero,” they still get the same first quality doctor, exams, lab tests, medicines, etc.

After their doctor’s visit, lab tests, and the medicines they get to take home, they must still “take their life in their own hands” to get here! Haiti still has many gangs on the streets, and it is growing every day! We would love for you to “pray for Haiti,” every day, as well as our Jesus Healing Center and all the projects we have… our feeding programs, etc.

God “is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think…” (Ephesians 3:20)

God bless you.

Sherry
