Little Michelene is now 29 years old! It is so hard to look at her and realize this was the little girl that we first saw sitting on a little straw chair in the backyard of our old “orphanage.” Her mother, Madamn Michelene, was a poor woman who worked for us. We agreed to bring Michelene in and help her go to school.

Later, after she graduated from high school, she took some studies for two years so that she could get a job at the Port-au-Prince airport ticket counter. However, it is hard to get a job in Haiti, so she went to the Dominican Republic. It was rough on her, but she got a job managing a “boutik” in a tourist area. Michelene runs the shop. Her boss has a lot of confidence in her.

Michelene speaks Creole, French, Spanish, and English fluently. Now that she has a lot of customers who speak Russian, she wants to learn Russian, too! Wow! We love Michelene, and we are so proud of her!! We struggle here with Creole, and she is on her fifth language!! She is a sweet, confident young lady!! We are so proud of Michelene!
