What a difference a day makes. Yesterday, we mentioned that we still had room for more students in our next “Poul Mirak Chicken School” (January 27-February 2) and this morning we are almost FULL! Here’s the deal, so many people who are doing developmental work in Haiti recognize the critical importance of having meat protein in children’s diets. Even one chicken egg every other day makes a huge difference in a child’s ability to learn, function and develop. Many missionaries understand the importance and long-term benefits from supporting training classes like our chicken school and recognize that this simple training can make a great difference. Our chicken school is designed to help Haitians know how to best raise chickens in the conditions found in Haiti. It covers the basics of raising chickens for “dooryard” use, or families having their own flock for sustainable meat protein from eggs and meat. Since yesterday’s post, we had contact from four other organizations wanting to secure space for their students to learn these valuable skills. We now need sponsors to help these deserving Haitians attend the class that will benefit their communities for generations. Please consider supporting these students to come to school by sending $155 for each scholarship. You’ll be getting a return on your investment that can’t be beaten. God Bless you.
