Well, it’s been a year now, since we have opened the Birthing Center clinic. So much has happened since then, and of course, so much has happened around the world, especially in the last few months. We are so thankful to all our partners who have had a part in this wonderful project. We have delivered 685 babies… 5 sets of twins, 329 girls, and 348 boys, and on top of this, 230 transfers by our ambulance, to hospitals for life-saving operations.
Our Women’s Teaching Center (inside the Birthing Center), is a wonderful blessing, because many women (especially from the mountains), need to know the dangers involved in many “home-made teas,” that local mountain midwives give. These teas cause high blood pressure and puts the mother in a life-threatening condition. We also teach about birth control and the importance of not having “more babies than you can feed.”
The beautiful, clean, Birthing Center is surrounded by love. Fathers and relatives can wait outside on the porch, in a rocking chair, listening to our Christian Radio Station, and enjoy Christian music. We also have a nice “motel room,” for families who come from a long distance. They can stay the night and we provide food for them until mom is able to leave. We always believe that the poor should have our “very best.” After all, the Lord has given us, “His very best,” and we are extremely thankful for everything, especially for our partners!
God bless everyone who has helped in this wonderful project for the poor, Sherry
