When her mother died, her stepfather could not take care of her. Sometimes, he left Fabiola and her brother Jacque by themselves for days while he looked for work. The children became severely malnourished. He decided it was best to “give them up,” and Social Services brought them to us. She is now 13 and in 7th grade. Her chores are to clean her room and help with supper. She loves to cook Haitian food! She keeps her room clean, and she is always kind and gentle.
