It was a little more than 20 years ago that a poor mother knocked on our gate outside our home in Haiti. The poor mother had a baby in her arms and a little toddler holding onto her skirt. The little girl holding on was Widlene. Her mother gently shook the crying baby, who was Esther. The mother wanted to give away her two girls because her life was difficult. We talked to the mother and encouraged her. We knew that the Lord was going to take care of them… and the Lord “did” take care of them. There are many stories, but the two girls and their mother ended up in our orphanage! Madamn Jesula went to work for us, and we ended up with two more sweet children, “Widlene and Esther!”
Today, Esther is in college, and Widlene has her own business as a professional cook! But she loves to teach the little kids, “both boys and girls,” how to cook! The girls and their mother are all serving the Lord! But you, our wonderful partners, bring tears to my eyes, because you have “stayed with us through thick and thin,” and prayed with us! My eyes fill with tears, and I am so humbled to think that God would send us a partner like you!
We love you!
