This six-month-old baby was brought to our “Malnutrition Center” weighing just seven pounds. The young mother had stopped breastfeeding and was just feeding him “awout,” a root-like food that is very low in nutrients. She will receive formula and be taught to give the baby goat’s milk. She will receive plenty of food for this baby each time she comes to the center. Love A Child is saving lives, one at a time. We want to thank Joyce Meyer Ministries-Hand of Hope for sponsoring the operating cost of this clinic each month! God bless Joyce Meyer Ministries-Hand of Hope for helping us save lives!
PS: We are in great, great need of a new diesel van to transport children and nurses to and from the hospital on the many trips that we take each week. This will cost $45,000 to buy here in Haiti, but as Bobby says, “Faith doesn’t know we don’t have the first dime.” Sherry
I was up at 2:30 this morning here in Haiti with these scriptures burning within my heart to give to you. Please read and study the 14th chapter of Exodus and pay special attention to the 16th verse today. When Moses got to the Red Sea, God opened it up and they all walked across on dry land! Some of you are standing before the Red Sea in your lives today. Get ready, the Lord is preparing to open the Red Sea up for you to walk across and receive every promise He has made you! Bobby
Today, this dehydrated three-year-old child came to our Jesus Healing Center because of vomiting and diarrhea. Barbara MacMannis, our Medical Administrator said that the toddler was so sick that she didn’t even cry when they gave her an IV.
Our Jesus Healing Center is in desperate need of a diesel van, one that we can buy right here in Haiti to take children and nurses to and from a hospital for care. Last week, we had several children who needed to go to the hospital including Lionel, one of our Love A Child orphans. Lionel has undergone several surgeries on his hand (his father had held his hand in boiling water, when he was angry at him!). To buy a good diesel van in Haiti would be about $45,000, but this is so desperately needed. Let’s pray for this miracle that we need. Sherry
We had another monthly food distribution from our Kingdom Connection Food Distribution Center. Seventy-three organizations came to pick up their food today. They mostly come from orphanages around Haiti. Thank you Feed My Starving Children! By faith, eight 40-foot containers arrive each month to be distributed throughout Haiti. By faith, $80,000 is the cost of shipping the food from the States! Faith doesn’t know we don’t have the money! Bobby
I love the Bible story of Jesus and His disciples in the boat during the storm. “And he said unto them, Why are ye so fearful? How is it that ye have no faith?” Mark 4:40 – In order to get where God said we should go, we will pass through storms. We need not fear as long as God is with us in the boat! Bobby
“A Child from the City of Dirt” – Joseph is one of many children that come from a poor area of Haiti that is referred to by all the Haitians as “The City of Dirt.” Water is scarce and so is food. Very few children go to school there, and no one ever has three meals a day, two meals a day, or even one decent meal a day. Remember how “blessed you are” and always remember to “give” to the poor. This is the closest thing to the heart of God. Sherry
David and I, along with Mike Welch and Larry from Harrison Poultry, Inc., have been meeting about chickens all morning. We have been discussing ways to expand the Poul Mirak (Chicken Co-op) to become even more successful. This is another step in our sustainability projects that are helping Haitians to help themselves. Bobby
The hardest thing about being a missionary is not being able to feed “all the hungry children” we see. For me, the hardest part is seeing children who eat out of the garbage dumps. However, the most rewarding part is seeing children with full plates of food, like these children, whom we help feed each month through our friend Pascal Bain. The biggest “weight” on our shoulder each month is the cost of bringing in eight “40-foot containers of food” and getting them released from customs in Haiti. It costs $10,000 for each container, making the total $80,000 each month. Pray about what you can do and call 239-210-6107 to help. God bless you. Bobby and Sherry
“And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity (love), it profiteth me nothing.” 1 Corinthians 13:3 – The Bible says, “God is love.” Let’s make a special effort to show and share God’s love with others today. Love is something you do! Bobby
What a joy it was to move this poor family into a new home in Miracle Village! They had been living under a ripped tent since the earthquake. Madamn Dor took in two of these children to raise because their parents had died. They are all so happy and thankful! Thank you Lord for blessing this poor family with a house! Bobby and Sherry
