I am sorry for all the changes in reporting on Baby Elijah. The Hospital Bernard Mevs is about an hour from us. It is very difficult for Barbara, our Medical Administrator and Missionary, to leave the Jesus Healing Center and be at the hospital to get first-hand news. He DID have the surgery yesterday morning, but had complications. Later in the day the shunt procedure had to be done again. This poor, poor baby has endured so much in his young life. Let’s all pray for a miracle for him! Sherry

Word from the Mission Field – 10-28-14
“There was a certain man in Caesarea called Cornelius… A devout man, and one that feared God with all his house, which gave much alms (offerings to the poor) to the people, and prayed to God always.” Acts 10:1-2 – The Angel said to Cornelius, “Thy prayers and thine alms are come up for a memorial before God.” Acts 10:4 – When you pray and give to the poor, it comes up as a “memorial” before God. Blessings, Sherry
Word from the Mission Field – 10-28-14 – 6 AM
“A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold. The rich and poor meet together: the Lord is the maker of them all.” Proverbs 22:1-2 – Please read this scripture very carefully today. The Word of God is so powerful. Bobby
Correction on Baby Elijah update: 10-27-2014 4:00 PM
I have a correction to the earlier post about Baby Elijah: I was told by one of our Haitian staff members that Baby Elijah had his surgery yesterday, but she had misunderstood the news. He “was supposed” to have the shunt surgery, but due to some seizures he was having, they could not do his surgery yesterday. The team of neurologists will try again today. Our Medical Director Barbara will need to sign paperwork authorizing this surgery. Sherry
Update on Baby Elijah: 10-27-2014 2:30 PM
Baby Elijah had his shunt surgery yesterday at Hospital Bernard Mevs here in Haiti by an American team of neurologists. They had told us that they didn’t think they would have the time to change his shunt because there were so many babies that needed surgeries and that they were overwhelmed. Thankfully, they were able to do Baby Elijah’s yesterday afternoon and he is now resting. He does have a fever but is holding his own. Sherry
Bloom for Jesus Conference: 10-27-2014 11:30 AM
This morning the “Bloom for Jesus Conference” began at the Miracle Village Church here in Haiti. This is an event to bless Haitian women! Alisha Ballew and Lisa Rogers came up with this conference idea. It was planned to give gifts, teach women, and let them know that “God loves them and cares about them!” They invited Nancy Rinker as one of the first guest speakers! Wow, this was incredibly awesome! As the conference goes on this week, you will see more! Thanks to everyone who gave and participated! Sherry
Word from the Mission Field – 10-27-14
Philip had just won a eunuch to the Lord and baptized him. “And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing. But Philip was found at Azotus…” Acts 8:39-40 – There are Bible scholars that say he was transported by the Spirit 34 miles away to preach the Gospel. Bobby
Feeding poor Haitians and Dominicans: 10-26-2014 7:30 PM
We also send food to the Dominican Republic. Once there, Carlos works with the local pastors to give food to the many poor Dominicans and Haitians working in sugar cane camps. Just look at these happy faces! Thank you to our partners! Sleep well tonight, you have fed the poor! Sherry
This is Colin: 10-26-2014 12:00 PM
This is Colin. Ordinarily, you would not be amazed at a little boy with a plate full of food, but this little boy has a story. When he lived with his father, stepmother and nine children, he tried to eat the “last handful” of food left in a pot. His father grabbed his hand and held it in a hot charcoal fire until the flesh fell off. Now, he lives in our Love A Child Orphanage and eats a big plate of food each day! Sherry
