Update on abandoned baby – 06-03-14

When this little baby was abandoned at our front gate early Sunday morning, we didn’t know what condition he was in. When we gave him a bath, we noticed skin was peeling from all over his body. We thought he was only a week old, but after we sent him to the hospital, we were told he was more than likely about two months old. He is in a special hospital now, and we appreciate all your prayers and name ideas for this baby. Love, Sherry

Desperate Need of Bed Sheets

We are in desperate need of “new or nearly new” bed sheets in size twin and queen, both flat and folded styles. We are also in need of towels, especially white if possible. If you would like to donate these items, or know of some place such as a hospital that has these items, please contact our office at (239) 210-6107. We really need these items…LOTS OF THEM! Thank you so much, Sherry

Chikungunya Fever

We have heard that a large majority of Haitians, and many other Caribbean countries, have contacted the “Chikungunya fever” that is carried by mosquitoes. The word “Chikungunya” comes from an African word that means “contorted with pain.”  There are so many cases here in which a burning high fever brings extreme pain in the hands, joints, ankles and feet. One of our board members was flying into Haiti today, but her flight was cancelled because of the fever outbreak on the plane. Please remember us in your prayers. Bobby and Sherry

Sharing food with Orphelinat-Notre-Dame – 06-02-14

Look at these adorable children eating a big plate of rice mixture that was donated to us by Feed My Starving Children.  Thank you to all of our Love A Child partners for “sponsoring this food” to come all the way from the States to Haiti! May God also bless our friends at World Vision for the baseball caps! These pictures came from Orphelinat Notre-Dame and Fre Bourdeau Jonel. Love and blessings, Sherry

Our Dutch Mobile Medical Team and some interns from Victory Church conducted a medical clinic in Fond Bayard, Haiti today. Haiti Update – 06-01-14

Sherry and Daniella are with the Dutch Medical Team right now in a very poor village.

Our new little baby boy, who was left abandoned at our front gate yesterday morning, just left our Jesus Healing Center after being examined by one of our doctors. He is being sent to the hospital for some additional medical care. Please pray for him. We think he is about four to seven days old and he is so cute. In the meantime, we have been in contact with the Department of Social Services and we are making legal arrangements to keep him at our orphanage. We need a name for this little baby boy that someone didn’t want. Can you think of a name? His last name will be Burnette. We all love him. Bobby

Word from the Mission Field – 06-02-14

Sherry and I pray for five things every morning:
1. The favor of God
2. The favor of men
3. God’s wisdom
4. God’s knowledge
5. God’s understanding
One day of God’s favor is worth a thousand days of labor! God moves through men to bless you and me. Luke 2:52 – Bobby

Here is another church and school in the middle of “nowhere” in the old village of Le Tant. Today, we dedicated the new Love A Child church and school as huge crowds that praised the Lord joined us. Mud huts with thatched roofs surround the new church and there are no block buildings here except for this beautiful new church, which speaks a message that Jesus is here. Special thanks to David George and his partners for their wonderful work! Bobby

Abandoned baby update: 6-1-2014 11:00 AM

This adorable little baby boy was left by our front gate, but hidden from sight. Workers heard the weak cry and thought it was a baby goat. Tomorrow, we will take him to our clinic, and he will be referred to a hospital. From there, we will register him at the Department of Social Services. There are many legal steps to take before we can bring him to our orphanage. Please pray for him, he is near death. Sherry
