Sherry’s Journal 03-01-14

Widlene 03-01-14

“Girls will be girls…” Widlene is one of our “little girls” that is growing up.  She asked for a razor and instructions on “how to shave her legs.”  With 15 other girls of all ages watching, I gave her a couple of lessons and told her not to cut herself.  The herd of girls just left my front door.  Sherry

Sharing our food 03-01-14

This morning, over 60 different missionaries and organizations came in to receive food for their orphanages and school feeding programs.  What a blessing it is to “give and share.”   This afternoon, the Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope team of 31 medical professionals will be arriving from the States.  We also have 23 Haitians that will join the team, 100 teens coming in for evangelism, as well as two weddings!  Sherry

JMM – Hand of Hope team arrive in Haiti

Today, we welcome the Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope team to Haiti. The volunteers will be conducting mobile medical clinics this week. The team includes 31 medical professionals, 20 Haitian interpreters, two Haitian doctors and one Haitian nurse!  We will take medical care to several villages such as Z’orange, Madanm Bauje and La Roche! Max Care team leaves Haiti

Today, the Max Care Prosthetic team will leave after doing a WONDERFUL JOB fitting new prostheses for the Miracle Village amputees, as well as helping two of our orphans.  Dieuferly was fitted for “special shoes” to help with his clubfeet.  He has had several surgeries here in Haiti that were not very successful. The team also did a casting for Richard to help him with his condition that is similar to Cerebral Palsy that causes him to drag his foot.  God bless this special team! Bobby and Sherry

Marketplace Update 03-01-14

There is much work being done on the new Marketplace in Fond Parisien…“Mache Mirak or Miracle Market!”  The iron gates are being handmade, and now the holes are being dug and the big columns are getting ready to go in!  This will create “food for life!” We thank Pastor Jentezen Franklin and his partners for sponsoring this project!  Sherry

Saturday 03-01-14

This morning the Max Care Prosthetic team is leaving Haiti to head back to the States. They have truly put love into action this week.  Today the Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope team is coming in with 30 medical volunteers ready to help many Haitians.   We will also be distributing food to over 60 different organizations and orphanages that will all come to our Food Distribution Center to pick up their monthly food supply.  As if that were not enough, there will also be two weddings later in the afternoon!  Sherry

Max Care Prosthetic Team 02-28-14

This is the Max Care Prosthetic team casting Richard.  He is an older child that lives in our orphanage.  Richard came to us after the earthquake when his orphanage collapsed.  He has a condition that is similar to Cerebral Palsy and it causes him to drag one foot.  Hopefully, the cast will make a difference! Sharing with Hope Tree of Life Ministries

A Haitian Creole Proverb: “Those who share their food, never eat alone…”
Thanks to our Love A Child Partners and to Feed My Starving Children, we were blessed toshare our food” with Yvrose who runs Hope Tree of Life Ministries in Haiti.  They shared this same food with a little boy who was malnourished and anemic, and now he is well.  When you sow in fertile soil, it comes back 100-fold!
