Colorful Moms!!

We have the best partners in the world! Sometimes, we receive items for children, and sometimes, items for moms! Nixon, our Administrator, took a box of gifts and colorful tote bags to these mothers, waiting for babies!!

Oh, wow! They were so excited! Haitians love “colorful items”! These bags are great for carrying clothes to wash, picking up items, etc. Just look at all these colorful moms.

Someone once said that “small things done in a great way” is a blessing!!!

These mothers have so many problems on their backs now… Haiti is “upside down,” and food is scarce. These gifts bring some joy into their lives, which have been full of sorrows.

To all of you who send in these items, thank you with all our hearts!!! “A merry heart doth good like a medicine.”

Love,
Bobby and Sherry

Word from the Mission Field

“What if God Gave Us His Leftovers?”

How would you feel if someone “prosperous” invited you to their house for Thanksgiving dinner, and when you arrived, they said, “Glad you came over, we’re going to have ‘leftovers,’ just for you!” I’m sure you would be gracious but maybe just a little hurt or a little offended or ashamed. If it had been a poor person, you would gladly have eaten it because “they gave all they had.”

In 2 Chronicles 31:5, the children of Israel are coming back to the Lord with their offerings.

“… the children of Israel brought in abundance the firstfruits of corn, wine, and oil, and honey, and of all the increase of the field; and the tithe of all things brought they in abundantly…they also brought in the tithe of oxen and sheep, and the tithe of holy things… and laid them by heaps. In the third month they began to lay the foundation of the heaps, and finished them in the seventh month.” (2 Chronicles 31:5-7)

If you read chapter 32, you will see how the Lord blessed King Hezekiah and his people.

The Lord always wants us to “give our best,” whether it be time or money or love or “going the extra mile.” He always gives us back, “His best.” Let’s never be “cheap” with the Lord in our giving, our obedience, our love, or “going the extra mile.” Let’s never, never give Him our “leftovers.” He has always given us “His best!”

Have a great, great day!!!

Sandraline… “Lollipop”

Sandraline is so sweet. In Creole, we call her “Piwili.” She is now almost 13. Her mother had died and her young father fixed bicycles for a living in order to hire a woman to care for his baby. When he could no longer care for her, he brought he to us at Love A Child.

By the time he brought her to us, the baby was extremely malnourished.

Sandraline is sweet and is in 6th grade. She loves helping with the younger children and she loves helping in the laundry room and likes to “work!” She likes to play soccer. Her dream is to be a nurse.

She is a sweet young girl, and her father would be proud of her… But, he never comes to see her. Though, she is still a happy and content young lady.

We love her!!!

Sherry

P.S. We need to put her on a diet… Ha! She loves “ti pa nou,” FMSC Food!

Looking into the future!

I just took these pictures of John Eddie and our wonderful Haitian construction workers.

By faith, we are building housing for future mission teams to come! I know things look horrible now, but we are looking into the future. We are thankful to have 245 Love A Child workers just on this property. The Jesus Healing Center Clinic is open, the Birthing Center is open, the Malnutrition Center is open, Children’s Home, plus much more. Each person who has a job [in Haiti] is said to feed 10 people.

The Embassy has asked Americans to leave due to the gangs, great violence, kidnappings, and much more.

The Haitian government is not in control. We will be leaving soon. We have Thanksgiving plans with our family in America.

Note: Cape Haitian (north Haiti) is peaceful, far as I can tell south Haiti is also peaceful and the provinces.

BE NOT AFRAID

“Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” 2 Chronicles 20:15

Sometimes our problems seem to be bigger than we can handle. Even overwhelmed with more than one big problem, but more problems. Maybe a multitude of problems. The Lord is saying today, don’t be afraid or dismayed. The battle is not yours but the Lord’s! God is bigger than our problems!

If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

Giving food to the families in New Letant!

Pastor Jentezen Franklin built 100 houses for the people in New Letant after the 2010 earthquake. What is so funny is, you could see all the huts yesterday in Old Letant where we gave meals out to the families there. When Pastor Jentezen built the new homes in New Letant, we moved the families of Old Letant into New Letant, and they left their huts…

WE THOUGHT!! The people of New Letant rented their huts out to other people. They became true capitalists!!! (Jentezen calls New Letant the “Kingdom Connection Village”).

Everyone was very thankful for their Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) meals. The Haitians call it “ti pa nou” just a little for us.

We want to thank FMSC for donating the meals, and our friends for helping us with the $10,000 for each container to be shipped down here and through customs, then delivered to the different areas. Last month we received 11 containers… we are receiving 10 containers per month now from FMSC. BY FAITH!

LAC TV Program “All Things Are Possible” Begins Friday!

This week Love A Child takes you into the Nippes region in Haiti to distribute thousands of tents to those displaced by the earthquake. Your heart will be moved as you witness those who have lost everything share stories of brave heroics and unshakable faith. In minutes of destruction, grandchildren ran into crumbling homes to rescue grandparents, children risked it all to spare their parents, and those left alone placed their hope in the true Protector. Once the aftershocks were over, people stood among ruins to sing praises to God’s goodness. Beautiful things are in store for these people with truly remarkable faith. You can choose to be part of their joy!

We want to invite viewers around the world to tune in on Friday to Daystar Television Network at 6:30 p.m. (ET) and then throughout the week. You can also watch us on DirecTV, DISH Network, Christian Television Network, The Word Network, NRB, and many more local television stations. Check out our full schedule for the best way for you to tune in. You can also watch the program online through our Vimeo and YouTube channels or on our website www.loveachild.com under the “Media” tab.

Together we are changing lives!

Word from the Mission Field

“He Always Was and Always Will Be God!”

Our tiny little minds cannot comprehend God. He is so, so big. And the thing about God is that He always has been God, always is God, and always will be God. He never changes. David said, “Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God!” (Psalm 90:2)

Our problems are only “big” in our eyes. God never leaves us and will always be nearby. We have been through an embargo here in Haiti. We have been through floods, hurricanes, two earthquakes, and much more. And there is much more facing us each day, but God is still with us. He is big enough to hold the world in the palm of His hand, but small enough to fit inside our hearts. He is our mighty God! Have a blessed day!!

Sherry
