We had such a good time at the “Love A Church” in the village of Old Letant. This small church lost its precious pastor a few months ago, Pastor Sorrell, and we were so concerned about it. But some of Pastor Sorrell’s family “took up the cross” and began where Pastor Sorrell left off. Now, the church is growing every Sunday.
Watson, our Love A Child cameraman, and his lovely wife and children really have a burden for this Church. Watson preaches there every Sunday. This morning, as we’re sitting there singing, they brought out “biscuits and coffee” for everyone (including the children) and also candy for after Church! (I think this would make us want to become “Members,” Ha!)
The Church is really growing and doing well. Even though they don’t have a guitar or piano, or anything, they were singing with all their might!
Normally, we could say that this was really great, seeing the Church is doing so well, even though the Pastor went on to be with the Lord… But, this village is a village of “mud huts,” … everyone lives in a mud hut! They buy used clothes on the street (they call this “pepe,” and they dress as best as they can). (All Haitian Christians have great respect for Church!)
Sherry and I were so blessed to see the service doing so well, and Watson and his wife taking so much time with the people and children! We know that Pastor Sorrell must be looking down from Heaven and smiling!
We especially want to thank David George and his ministry partners for sponsoring the building of this Church, “in the middle of nowhere!” This has brought great joy to the people! Bobby and Sherry
