LAC Kids Give their Backpacks a “Workout”!

Backpacks Still Needed for Love A Child Kids… We still have a special need for “backpacks!” You can see just some of the old and ripped backpacks!

Haitian children have lots of heavy books to carry! We have all sizes of kids from age 5 to college students… 28 girls and 37 boys, and they go from elementary school to college! You can see little Zoey’s backpack, which is all ripped and torn from the past year.

We looked at the prices and they are from $20 for the small kids to about $30 or $35 or more for the older ones. We are figuring about $2,000 to cover the backpacks! We also have to make sure to make two uniforms each. Thank you, partners, for anything you can do to help with “backpacks for school!” Every gift helps!

Feeding Hungry Families

“But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” Mathew 9:36

While traveling through the mountain villages in the south of Haiti, our precious brother Hubert stopped to visit a poor family in Kavier, when dozens of hungry children appeared. Hubert always carries a small amount of rice and food items in his vehicle for a family or two that is in need, this time God multiplied the little that he had and they cooked and fed 64 hungry children! Thank you for your prayers and financial support more than ever.

Word from the Mission Field

“Open Your Hand Wide.”

The Lord left a great plan for blessings to come upon our life. God said, “For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy in thy land.” Deuteronomy 15:11

The reason some Christians aren’t blessed is because they never open their hands wide! Don’t be a “stingy Christian.” God wants to bless you! Always be looking for someone to bless! Have a joyful day.

“When a Haitian Lays Down at Night”

There is a Haitian Creole Proverb that says, “When a Haitian lays down to bed at night, fear lays down beside him.”

Last night, late, the children from Pastor Claude’s Orphanage arrived at our front gate here at Love A Child in a panic!

Pastor Claude had gone to Cap-Haitien on business and left his orphanage kids with his workers. (His orphanage is about 15 minutes from us.)

Somehow, at night, the people on the other side of Claude’s orphanage heard “gunshots,” and everyone in that area screamed and left, running down the road for their lives!! That scared Claude’s children and workers and they got into two vehicles and headed for Love A Child!! Both vehicles broke down, and at night, while we were sleeping, “they all showed up at our front gate!”

Nixon, who works for us, got all the children and staff into some rooms near our clinic. They spent the night, and this morning, as we were getting ready to feed them, they wanted to go back home to their orphanage. They did not even wait for breakfast… so they jumped into our bus, and “George” (one of our older kids) drove them back to their orphanage!
Since the gangs are not far from us, we are on “high alert!”

We are still “boots on the ground,” and we need your love and prayers!

Thank you,
Bobby and Sherry

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be open unto you: for every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” Matthew 7 & 8

This is a powerful word from the Lord. TODAY ASK, SEEK AND KNOCK, THE LORD IS ABOUT TO GIVE YOU A MIRACLE!! God has more miracles than we have needs!

Ginyia learns to cook!

Ginyia has found her niche! She just made her first pancakes and so, maybe we have another professional cook! Giniya’s mother died during a C-section, and her father left and went to the Dominican Republic. She was raised by her 17-year-old cousin. But when she no longer could care for Ginyia she took the baby to Social Services. That’s when they called us and asked us to take her.

Ginyia will be in 6th grade. She is very intelligent, and we will see where her life will lead her. Our Love A Child kids will be Haiti’s chance for a better future.

IMPORTANT UPDATED NEWS FROM HAITI:

NO CHANGES:

The bridge leading into Ganthier, 8 miles from us, is still torn up badly, and now it has a large steel welded container across it. No one can come out here from Port-au-Prince. We have not heard back from Kenya or anyone. We are holding on.

The Lord is with us, and we have his peace. The children are good. Some people on our Love A Child property have left because of fear. The 400 Mawozo gang said they will come this way. The community is in a panic. Many are fleeing to the mountains.

Psalms 91. Isaiah 43:2

FOOD CRISIS:

This morning at 10 A.M., we will have our third meeting with Mayor Ralph and the Ganthier committee on our plan to feed the 2,000 homeless families “seven days a week” who lost everything when the gangs came through. They will break your heart. I’m hoping we have one donor who will help with this project. We should know by tomorrow. We must purchase this food. We do not have nearly enough of the Feed My Starving Children (FMSC) meals to feed them beside others who have been promised these FMSC meals.

We need your prayers and support more than ever.

We love you from the bottom of our hearts.

THE EYE OF FAITH!

“By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.” Hebrews 11:27

Moses could see beyond what he could see in the natural.

We have never seen God, but yet we can look all around us and see Him every day, in the clouds, sun, moon, beautiful rolling hills, trees, and the magnificent ocean.

We live in this flesh, and we have natural things all around us. I’m sitting here looking beyond all of the things I can see. I’m believing in the Lord for things I cannot see with my natural eye! I’m looking into the invisible with the eye of faith. Oh, I see God doing great things! What do you see today?
