Bicycles!!! Wow! The Kids Are Going Nuts!!

These kids act like they were “born on a bicycle!” Our previous friends, Dean and Carolyn from Georgia, sent these bicycles a while ago… but it took time for them to come by way of a shipping container through the Dominican Republic! We wanted to wait until the kids finished school for the summer… but, they could not wait!

We just found out that “all of our Haitian children passed with flying colors!” So, we pulled the bicycles out of the warehouse, and put the kids on a schedule! They can ride from 2:00 to 4:00 pm if they have finished their chores! Camy, (the big guy with a bullhorn), gives each group of kids 20 minutes and then they share the bikes with their brothers and sisters.

Everyone can ride well except for Jonas. He is the boy from the mountains who was a slave child. He cannot figure out how to move one leg, and then another in the same direction! He keeps putting the brakes on! Ha!! But, he will catch on!

Special thanks again to Dean and Carolyn! These children will have great memories! God bless your good heart!

Word from the Mission Field

The Lord told King Jehoshaphat, “… Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.” (2 Chronicles 20:15)

This morning, I feel within my heart that many of you are facing a battle in your life. The battle may be great, but God is greater! Today, a multitude may be against us, but God will fight the battle. We are on the winning side!

“If God be for us, who can be against us?” Romans 8:31

David Desir… He’s a “Tough Little Guy”

David Desir was the 7th child born into a “very, very poor family.” His parents could not care for him so a kind neighbor took him in. But as a little time passed, she felt she could not care for this baby. She took him to the Department of Social Services, and there, they found another family… “ours.”

We took him in… Every child is different. David is quiet and hard-working!!! He loves “guy things.” Anything with wheels, “he is there!” David is now 11 and growing taller each day! He wants to be a mechanic… and David “loves soccer!” He is now in 6th grade and can’t wait to “drive something…” ANYTHING!!! David is quiet and sweet… and we love him!

Backpacks Needed for Love A Child Kids…

We have a special need for “backpacks!” You can see just some of the old and ripped backpacks! (Haitian children have lots of heavy books to carry!) We have all sizes of kids from age 5 to college students… 28 girls and 37 boys, and they go from Elementary School to College!

We looked at the prices and they are from $20 for the small kids to about $30 or $35 or more for the older ones. We are figuring about $2,000 to cover the backpacks! (We also have to make sure to make two uniforms each.) Thank you, partners, for anything you can do to help with “backpacks for school!” Every gift helps!

HAPPY! HAPPY! HAPPY! CHILDREN

Yesterday, the children received 12 new bikes. Everyone took turns riding the bikes.

Oh, they were beyond happy! There is nothing like seeing smiles on children’s faces. Thank you, Dean and Carolyn, for purchasing these new bikes.

Love is something you do!

“He Knows My Name…”

Have you ever felt like “God has forgotten you?” You have prayed and prayed, but you feel as though you are praying “against a wall.” Hang in there, and don’t give up on God. He knows every intricate detail about you.

Have you ever tried to “count the stars?” It’s impossible to count them because there are so many stars… they are in-numerable. But the Word of God says, “He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names.” Psalm 147:4

If He knows the names of all the stars, He knows your name too!

Don’t give up! God has the answer to your problem, and “He knows your name!” Hang in there!

Help is on the way.

“Free Medical Help for the Poor…”

It is 9:00 am, and the Jesus Healing Center has already seen dozens of patients. We open with prayer and singing, and then, one of our workers holds up a “large, heavy book,” and they pray over it. It contains the names of our partners who helped build our “Jesus Healing Center.”

After prayer and some scripture, they turn on some Joyce Myer tapes in French while waiting for their name to be called.
By now, many patients are with a doctor. (The doctor you see in these pictures is Dr Barthelemy, our head doctor.)

He is examining a young lady with a rare skin problem, but he knows just what she needs. After seeing her, he will go straight to the ER, where more patients are waiting. I walked into another room, and two nurses were “delicately” trying to remove a dirty bandage from a little girl’s leg. She had a “motorcycle” burn on her legs.

I talked to several other patients on the way out, and left with praise and thanks in my heart for this wonderful gift to the poor… Special thanks to “Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope” for sponsoring our clinic each month!

That’s why we can give them free consultations, labs, and medicines! We are “very, very thankful!”

Sherry

Oh yes.. the big guy with the gun is just one of our securities. Haiti has not been safe for four years. But we believe that things will be better soon. Thank you for your prayers!

“Man Looks on the Outside, but God Looks on the Heart.”

I love this story… In 1st Samuel, 16th chapter, the Prophet Samuel has been sent to the house of “Jesse,” a Godly man. Samuel tells Jesse, who has many sons, that he is going to call Jesse and all his sons to the sacrifice. But, actually, he is coming to anoint one of Jesse’s sons with oil, for the work of the Lord!

One by one, all of Jesse’s big, strong, tough, good-looking sons passed on before him and Samuel was puzzled. None of the sons made the point with the Lord! God had chosen none of them. So, Samuel asks, “Do you have any more sons?” Jesse said, “Yes, I have a young son but he is out looking after the sheep.” The prophet said, “Send and fetch him.” You know the story… The prophet Samuel took one look at David and God said, “Arise anoint him. For this is he.”

So many times we look on the outside of the person, while God is busy looking on the inside. “For man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” I Samuel 16:7

We may find ourselves thinking, “How could God use “him,” or “her?” but, “Man looketh on the outward appearance, but God looketh on the heart.” I Samuel 16:7

God has never made a mistake! He knows what He is doing! Have a blessed day.

Little Samuel… a Winning Smile

Samuel was abandoned when he was a baby. We took him to “Social Services,” and they told us to “keep him,” because they had no room! He is a sweet kid, loves to smile, and sings “off-key!” He loves soccer and working in a garden! He finally got his “front teeth,” and now he has a winning smile! He is now 7 years old.

Little Samuel helps feed the donkeys and the horses in the morning. He also works on the “picking up trash,” detail! He “loves to eat,” and loves to play soccer, but cannot “carry a tune!” He’s been “singing off-key” since he was born! Ha! In the nighttime children’s service, he still sings “loud and off-key!” No telling what he will be! But one thing is for sure, “he will be, a success!!” He is sweet, hardworking, and always has a “winning smile!” We all love “little Samuel!”

Seeing Jesus in the Eyes of a Child

As I began to read “the rest of the story,” on Angeline, I found myself in awe. I know you have seen her picture and you know that this little girl was starving to death, as a result of gangs taking over, and the poor, having no way to make a living, safely.

When I got this “final picture of Angeline,” we were buying some things to go our vacation. We had stopped in to get “two Starbucks drinks,” in Gainesville, and while waiting on my drinks, I opened my phone to these “new pictures” of Angeline. Tears were streaming down my face as I looked at this precious little girl… her pictures on my cellphone! She had been sent to our Malnutrition Clinic, but when I last saw her, I thought she would die. I stopped the girl behind the counter and with tears in my eyes, I showed her these pictures and told her the story. It really touched her heart.

It takes the “family” of God’s children to save little lives from dying of starvation. Joyce Meyer Ministries/Hand of Hope, sponsored the building of our Malnutrition Clinic and they sponsor our Jesus Healing Center monthly. You, our partners, give to sponsor the “Feed My Starving Children,” food for Angeline and children all over Haiti. Many partners send clothing and diapers, etc., and you pray for us every day! Because we all worked together, look at the impact you have made in one little life!

The Bible says in Matthew 25:40, “Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.” Thank you, for saving Angeline and many other “Angeline’s’” here in Haiti! Great is your reward in Heaven! We love you, dear friends.
