Ada is such a sweet, young teenaged girl. She was brought to us by her aunt, years ago, along with her sister and brother. She told us the story of their parents trying to escape on a “Haitian boat” to the States, only to drown. Of course, we could not turn these children away…

Ada (also called Jessica) is now almost 15 years old and in the 9th grade. She is so intelligent and does “very well” in school. Ada is a good worker and also loves to cook. As with most Haitians, she is very artistic… loves to dance and loves to sing. She wants to be a doctor!! As all kids have a nickname, her sisters call her “yet bef,” cow head! Why? I’m not sure. And, as all the other kids do, she just laughs about it. Ada is surely to go a long, long way in life. Her mother would have been very proud of her, as we are. We love Ada! She will go very far in her life!! Sherry
