This is Rachael; her real name is Nazalie. She is one of our Love A Child children. About six months go she developed a bad head infection that looked a lot like impetigo. Our Children’s Home‘s head began sending her weekly to a “skin doctor,” as she called him. He was about three hours away in traffic, and we had to send a driver with a room mother. He sent back some “creams,” which went on and on until she was bleeding, smelling bad, and itching.

Some people on Facebook told me to use a mixture of antibiotic creams and cortisone for itching. That did nothing. So, I did what I usually do in Mobile Clinics. I took my friend’s advice but added yellow sulfur powder. I made them wash her head twice a day and apply this cream. I also made her take Co-Trimox.

Now, her hair is growing and nice and shiny and healthy. Being a specialist in Haiti doesn’t mean they know what they are doing. The Haitians say, “It’s when you pass through the sickness you know the medicine.” This simple medicine worked better than all those trips to the doctor. Little Rachael is so happy! And, we love her so much!
