“Pray for the Harvest”

Jesus had just finished healing the sick and casting out devils. He had been preaching the kingdom of God and healing all manner of sickness…”But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.” That’s when Jesus said, “Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.” – Matthew 9:36,38

We are here in Haiti today because “someone prayed that the Lord would send laborers into Haiti!” There are goers, senders, and those who pray for the harvest.

Looking at this next generation I wonder, “who will go?” Who will lay their “iPads and iPhones” aside for a little while and preach the gospel and care for the sick and hungry? The problem is that in this “church in a box” generation, not many young people want to “take up their cross and go.” We must pray every day that the Lord would send forth His laborers to “preach the gospel” to all nations. Bobby and I are so glad that we “heard the call,” and “took up the cross.” When we made that decision to say, “yes,” it was the happiest day of my life.
