For many years, we have seen cases of children who are burn victims caused by falling into the cooking fires or boiling pots of food. Most Haitians in the rural and poor areas of Haiti cook their food in a big pot over a “three-rock cooking fire.” The lack of medical care in the “Regions Beyond” means many of the children will not receive proper medical care. We often discover children with severe burns when we travel with our Mobile Medical Clinics into the “Regions Beyond.” Some children are brought to our Love A Child Children’s Home by Haiti’s Department of Social Services.
