Imagine that you are living in a very poor village in Haiti, and you and your children haven’t eaten in several days. Constant hunger pains are what it is like for more than half the families living in Haiti. Many of these precious children end up in orphanages, even though they still have a living parent. Some children end up as a Restavec (child slave). The family will often sell a child into slavery so the others can eat.
