Roselyne… Years ago, we were conducting a Mobile Clinic in the mountains of Haiti. Many people came, happy to be treated for their illness. A poor father brought his daughter with him. Her name was Roselyne, and her legs were crooked. We agreed to take her into our Orphanage and get help with her crooked legs. But the physical therapy was in downtown Port-au-Prince, in an area that was very dangerous. We knew we could not take her back and forth due to gangs on the street. But one doctor told us, “Just wait. I think that as she grows taller, her legs will straighten out.”
We gave Roselyne a little time, and sure enough, as she got older and grew taller, her legs straightened out! We were so happy! She finally finished her Philo (last year of school in Haiti). When we had to take Jackson to the Dominican Republic, due to his health, we took Roselyne with us to help with Jackson. She did a great job! She even began to learn Spanish. When we left the Dominican Republic to take Jackson back to Haiti, Roselyne wanted to stay. She could speak Spanish very well and could get a job! She is still there today, and we are so proud of Roselyne! Maybe she’ll find a Dominican fiancé who is a Christian… we hope so!
