It was about two years ago that “Alvin Jonsley” Djonsly’s mother brought him to our Jesus Healing Center Clinic in Haiti. His eye was “protruding out of its socket.” She had been to many clinics in Haiti but like the “woman with the issue of blood,” she had sought help for her son but found none. But one day, the Lord spoke to her and said, “take him to Love A Child, in Fond Parisien.” We were just a “stepping stone” that God would use because the real contact lay with Calvin Babcock and Baptist Health South Florida. They had already sent many surgical teams to Haiti in the past and done so much more and now, God was opening a great door for little Djonsly. Little did we know that a cancerous tumor lay behind his eye, close to his brain, and which affected him even more. Djonsly needed a miracle!
These dedicated Christian physicians had already sent many surgical teams to Haiti and helped many patients in the past. They made it possible for Djonsly and his mother to come to the states for Djonsly’s care and provided a place for them to stay during this long ordeal. Baptist Health South Florida is a faith-based, not for profit organization, and operates twelve hospitals in three counties: Miami-Dade, Monroe, and Palm Beach.
Djonsly is back in Haiti but has another appointment with the embassy on November 17th, because he has more treatment coming. Even while Djonsly had his problem with his eye, “falling from the socket,” he was making top grades in school in Haiti. He continued his education while in the states with a tutor. He is very, very intelligent, and it is no wonder that now, “he wants to be a doctor.”
When we say we “don’t have any words” that could express our deepest appreciation, that’s just what we mean. We have never met a more caring group of people: doctors, nurses, everyone, and especially Calvin, whom God used for this miracle! Thank you, everyone, with all our hearts! You all truly shine with the light of Jesus for every person you touch! Great is your reward in Heaven! We love you all! Bobby and Sherry
