Someone once asked us, “Why do you live in Haiti? There are poor children here in States.” My answer is, “First of all, this is where God called us, and we must obey the Lord.”

When God calls you, and wherever God calls you, you must obey. But, from our hearts, these Haitian children are so sweet and precious that it is not a hard thing to do. Their lives are very simple. They do not need Nike shoes, gold chains, or brand-name clothes. They don’t need the “latest cell phone” or any other gadgets. They aren’t looking for anything but food to eat today. They don’t even think about tomorrow because tomorrow may never come for them.

It’s all about “one meal a day,” and maybe, they won’t have to sleep on their stomach tonight to “make the pain go away.”
