Today is the 8th anniversary of the horrific earthquake that shook Haiti on January 12, 2010. There were more than 300,000 people injured, over 230,000 deaths, and millions left homeless because of this disaster. There was no warning about the powerful earthquake that rumbled underground and was going to bring havoc on Haiti. The earthquake hit, and we hit the ground running and did not stop for months. During those first nights, we did not sleep; we were working day and night to provide relief, food and medical care for thousands of Haitians. Shortly after the earthquake, we partnered with Harvard Humanitarian Initiative from Harvard University to set up a large Field Hospital on the Love A Child property. Doctors, nurses, surgeons, physical therapists and hundreds of volunteers were living in tents and treating the Haitians injured by the earthquake. Rows of tents became hospital rooms. Surgeries were done in our school classrooms. The hundreds of medical volunteers treated the physical injuries and our Love A Child team treated them spiritually. We thank Joyce Meyer Ministries – Hand of Hope, Jentezen Franklin, Pastor Randy and LifeChurch, the Hotes Foundation, Feed My Starving Children and many more that came to help save lives. We all worked together to heal the hurting Haitians after the devastation of the earthquake. A short time later, Miracle Village was born giving thousands of displaced Haitians a home. Today, those same Haitians that had lost loved ones, lost limbs and lost all hope, have a new life. “Love is something you do…” Thank you, partners, for showing love and changing lives in Haiti. We love you! Bobby and Sherry
