As many of you know, Lionel came to us when he was a small child. His father had gotten angry at him and “held his hand in boiling water,” and then put him out on the street. The police found him and someone called us.

We could never find a hand specialist in Haiti, but we did in the Dominican Republic! It is the young female doctor in the picture who did his hand surgery! What a miracle! All the other surgeons were amazed!

Special thanks to Jesse Ostrander who has been overlooking this hand surgery and getting the “right surgeon” for Lionel (Yonel), and taking care of the other children who have physical problems!  Thank you, Jesse, for all your hard work!
