Joseph… It is not uncommon for a father in Haiti to abandon his children when his wife dies. It happens all the time. Who will go to the market to sell? Who will wash the clothes at the river? Such was the case with Joseph (and his sister, Sarah).

When Joseph’s mother, Elicia Felix died, his father abandoned both children who had Kwashiorkor Malnutrition. The doctor thought they would not live. They were brought to our orphanage. Joseph is in Canado College to study to be a mechanic. When he’s not in school, he’s on the painting team. Joseph is sweet and quiet and respectful. We hope and pray he will make a good mechanic!
