We live in a time when everything is “instant,” or “I want it now!” Sometimes, when we pray about something, we want it “now!”

David, the Psalmist, spent much time with the Lord… even when he was a young man tending his father’s sheep, he would sit and write Psalms. The Lord became his “best friend.” Now, years later, after he has become a man who has been through many things, he writes this Psalm.

“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.” – Psalms 27:14

I know you have been praying about a certain need. Nothing has happened, and perhaps you are getting discouraged. The Lord is saying, “Be patient. Wait on me. I will bring it to pass. Wait on the Lord; be of ‘good courage,’ and He shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord…” Let’s start praising the Lord ahead of time! Now, that’s what faith would do!
