Samuel loves to cook!

I remember the day when an old Haitian mountain man came down to see us. He was carrying his infant son, Samuel. His wife had died and he had other children to take care of and knew he could not take care of an infant. He was a poor man, with a little garden that didn’t grow much of anything. As he handed the baby to me, tears ran down his face… we were all crying.

Samuel has grown into a sweet and kind young man. He is 17 and in 8th grade (although school is not in session now). Samuel works on the “painting team,” and right now they are painting our new Malnutrition Clinic. Samuel loves soccer and basketball. He is kind to everyone and works hard.

In addition, he loves to draw and loves music; he plays the drums in our children’s service at night. And, he loves to cook (because he loves to eat! Ha!). He is still thinking about what he wants to do in life, but for now, he is just “happy,” painting, and being part of the Love A Child Family! Sherry
