Word from the Mission Field – 07-04-18

In Luke 22:33, we see Peter who loved the Lord with all his heart, and he told Jesus, “I am ready to go with thee, both into prison, and to death.” But Jesus told Peter, “Before the cock crows, you will have denied me three times.” It happened just like that because Jesus knows all… nothing is hidden from him. Peter denied Him twice, and then, denied Him again, then, Jesus turned and looked at Peter. Can you imagine how Peter felt? The Bible said that he went out and wept bitterly. Kathryn Kuhlman, a great minister of the Gospel once said, “It’s not what happens to you, but it’s what you do with that thing after it happens.”
But, on the day of Pentecost, Peter was the speaker to the crowd in Jerusalem; God used him to plant a church of about 3,000 people, he healed a lame beggar in Acts 3, and he was arrested, beaten and threatened, but he was unstoppable! And much more! He wrote two books of the New Testament and was crucified because of his belief. He said that he was unworthy of Jesus, and asked to be crucified upside down. He has impacted our lives many years later! “It’s what you do with that thing after it happens that makes the difference.” Sherry
