Word from the Mission Field

“Times and Seasons.”

What a very important thought! Bobby and I are always awake at 4:00 a.m. but this morning, we were up at 3:00 a.m. As I began to pray and think about the Lord, He gave me a very important thought about “times and seasons.” I remembered when I was 11, and we were living in Pennsylvania, we had a little country home. We were poor but happy. I had a dog named “Boots” and a best friend, Martha. But one day, my parents told me we were leaving Pennsylvania and moving to Florida! I would have to leave my dog, my home, and my best friend. I was 12 and it was hard for me to understand that “God moves our lives around.”

Years later, Bobby and I moved from Florida to Haiti. These were “stepping stones.” Through the years, I have come to realize that there are many times that we will be required “to let go,” as well as times to “hold on.” I have come to realize that “letting go,” is harder than “holding on.” You may be “letting go” of someone you love… a child going to college, a fiancé, a home, a job, or someone close to you. We must learn to “let go.” God has a bigger plan for our lives. Ecclesiastes 3:1 “To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the sun.”

So today, even though it’s tough, there is a time to “let go,” but it’s all part of God’s plan! Trust me, I know! Give it all to Jesus and have a wonderful day! It will be OK!
