“Stop crying. Something better is on the way!”

In 1st Samuel 16:1, the Lord speaks to the Prophet Samuel. Samuel was the Prophet of God who had anointed Saul as King. But now Saul has disobeyed the Lord time and time again, and the Spirit of God has lifted from Saul and an evil spirit is upon him. The Bible says, in 1st Samuel 15:35, “… Samuel mourned for Saul: and the Lord repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.” Now, in 1st Samuel 16:1, the Lord is speaking to the Prophet Samuel, “… How long wilt thou mourn [cry] for Saul, seeing I have rejected him from reigning over Israel? Fill thine horn with oil, and go, I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.” I am sure the Prophet Samuel had never cried over anything. When he came to town, “the people trembled!” But now, we find the Prophet Samuel, a tough prophet, that made anyone tremble at his word, “crying over Saul.” God says, “Stop crying. Something better is on the way!”

This is the Word of God for someone this morning. “Stop crying! Something better is on the way! Whether you have lost that job, or that boyfriend, or your girlfriend has left you, or whatever it is… “Stop crying! Something better is on the way!” So, begin to praise the Lord ahead of time and have a great day!
