I can remember the day we saw this little girl in a very, very poor village in Haiti. She made me “stop in my tracks.” Her hut was just pieces of dried banana leaves. She sat on a little wooden chair outside, and she had her tiny hands wrapped around a small wooden pilon. I wondered, “What is she thinking?” Her hair, which should have been black, was crusty red and very dry. She was the “picture of despair.” Perhaps her parents were off trying to find a little job to get food. It was then that it seemed the Lord tapped me on the shoulder and said, “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?” – I John 3:17
If we ever have the ability to help someone, let’s not let this pass us by. Each day, we become the hands and feet of Jesus.
Have a blessed day.
