Word from the Mission Field

“The Least of Things.”

Have you ever noticed in the Bible that Jesus always used the least of things to bring about miracles? He sent the disciples to catch a fish… to pay their taxes. He used a little boy with five loaves and two fishes to feed a crowd of 5,000 men (not including women and children). He used the story of the little widow woman and her “two mites,” to show us that “she had given more than the rich.”

You will notice that the Lord used stories of widow women… I love the story in I Kings 17. God provided a raven to bring food to Elijah when there was a famine in the land. Now, the “brook had dried up!” I wonder if that has ever happened to you? You thought you were doing good, and then, “your brook dried up!”

So, God sent Elijah to the widow who would take care of him… not just any “widow,” God chose one who was getting ready to die of starvation, her and her son! I Kings 17:9-16

God always uses the people or the things we think are the least, to care for us and let miracles happen! Have a blessed day!
