Word from the Mission Field

Word from the Mission Field

“I am not able to bear all these people alone, because it is too heavy for me. And if thou deal thus with me, kill me, I pray thee, out of hand…” Numbers 11:14

Poor Moses. He was sick and tired of hearing the Israelites complain, day after day. Even after the Lord had delivered them from Pharaoh, sent them out of bondage with silver and gold, and gave them “miracle manna” in the wilderness, it was, complain, complain, complain. Moses was sick and tired of it. He told the Lord, “this is too heavy for me. You can just kill me.”

Sometimes, our burdens do “seem more than we can bear.” We seem to carry a small burden, lay it down and pick up one heavier than that one, that job that you hate, a rebellious child, your “always broken down” car, that house payment that keeps getting bigger.

Aren’t you glad you’re not “Moses!” Aren’t you glad that Jesus came to be your “burden-bearer?” He said, “Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28

Yes, that burden is too big for you to carry alone. Jesus wants you to cry out to Him, and ask Him to “pick up the load.” He promised never to give you more than you can bear and after all, aren’t you glad God didn’t give you “Moses’ job?”

Have a great day, because even though you may not see Him, He is always there to help you carry that load!
