“Blind Faith.”

“And when Jesus passed by, He saw a man which was blind from his birth.” John 9:1

Here, we have Jesus with his disciples, going on a journey with His disciples. He had just caused a riot in the Temple telling the people, “Before Abraham was, I am!” They tried to stone Him but He escaped, now, traveling, he sees a man “blind from birth.” He spits on the ground, makes “clay” of the spittle, anointing the eyes of the blind man, and tells him “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam,” (interpretation, “sent”). Actually, it means, “go wash into the pool of Siloam.” Go and wash the clay from your eyes.

Wouldn’t you have thought that the man’s eyes would have popped open, and he would begin to dance and praise God? No. The “blind man,” had to prove his faith. Jesus had stopped, spoken to him, spit on some clay (anointed his eyes)… but now, the “blind man” was still blind. I can see him, poking along with a stick, his eyes covered with clay mud, his face dirty and sweaty, and probably, people were making fun of him. But as he took “blind steps” toward the pool of Siloam, he was walking with “blind faith.” You know the story… “He went his way, therefore, and washed, and came seeing!”

The Lord will tell us to do something that requires “blind faith.” It may be difficult or it may take sacrifice, because real faith, is something outside all our senses. But as you take a “step” in that direction, with “blind faith,” you will receive what the Lord has for you!! Don’t be afraid! Take that first step, and come back “praising God!” Sherry
