“God Does It to Make You Tough!”

I can hear the words of Jeremiah, the prophet, speaking to Judah and Jerusalem… “If thou hast run with the footmen, and they have wearied thee, then how canst thou contend with horses? and if in the day of peace, wherein thou trustedst, they wearied thee, then how wilt thou do in the swelling of Jordan? Jeremiah 12:5

God is saying, “if you can’t overcome the footmen of the enemy, how can you keep up with the horses? If you can’t make it in the day of peace, how will you make it when you “cross the Jordan?”

Sometimes we grumble and complain when we go through a trial, not understanding the “why.” Haven’t you ever considered that God is “making you tough” because “the big one’s coming”? It was God that sent the lion to the young teenager, David, when he was taking care of the sheep. Then if that wasn’t enough, God sent him a “bear!” Yes, that’s right! God sent both of them! Why? To make David tough!

You are going through what you are going through because God sent that stuff to you to make you “tough!” He knows that “the big one’s coming!” God does it to make you tough!! So stop whining and complaining… God will bring you through just fine!!! Now praise the Lord and have a great day! Sherry
